Titik6.com||NTT Indonesia -Schools are educational institutions that have a very important role in guiding students toward becoming better individuals. The role of schools is not only as a place to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also as a place to develop students’ mentality and character.Monday(-15-6-2026).

Schools must be able to educate and shape students’ character while also providing good examples and role models. At school, students should learn about discipline, responsibility, and how to respect themselves and others.

Therefore, schools have a significant influence on students’ character development.

Today, character education is not a trivial matter; instead, it has become very important and influential in students’ growth and development.

It should be understood that in the current era, especially in the field of education, people are not only judged by how much knowledge they have, but also by how good their attitudes and behavior are.

Having good character is something remarkable because it shows a person’s understanding of social norms and rules and helps them distinguish between good and bad behavior. Furthermore, people with good character can build positive relationships in their lives, especially in social interactions and other aspects of life.

Many children face challenges in character development, such as showing little respect for others, having difficulty controlling their emotions, or lacking an understanding of proper ethics in social relationships.

These problems may be caused by a lack of guidance from parents or because parents are too busy and do not give enough attention to their children, which can lead to negative behavior. Such behavior is considered inappropriate according to moral values.

It can also cause children to be avoided by their friends and members of the community.

In addition, peer influence can also be one of the factors that affect children’s negative attitudes and behavior. For example, children who are part of a social environment with little educational influence may become accustomed to doing inappropriate things because their friends do the same.

Without realizing it, they may continue these behaviors wherever they go because they believe such actions are normal. If good character is not developed from an early age, it will be very difficult to change later. Another factor is bullying, which can seriously damage students’ character.

Bullying can take many forms, such as teasing, insults, and threats that are repeatedly directed at someone. Students who become victims of bullying may experience stress, lose self-confidence, and constantly feel afraid. This can hinder the development of positive character traits such as courage and self-confidence.

On the other hand, children who engage in bullying may grow up with little empathy and have difficulty respecting others.

To address these problems, an appropriate solution is the school. Schools are the right place because they are institutions where children receive proper education from the first time they enter school. At school, children are required to obey rules and regulations and listen to their teachers.

Here, teachers act as guides and educators who help students develop good character. Through school rules and discipline, students gradually build positive character traits. Moreover, schools are expected to develop students’ character in appropriate ways so that children do not lose their self-confidence.

Schools must become a major influence in shaping students’ character because students spend most of their time there. Every day, they learn to follow rules, respect teachers, appreciate their friends, and complete their responsibilities as students.

These simple habits gradually help them develop good attitudes, behavior, and a sense of responsibility. Teachers also play a significant role in shaping students’ character. Teachers are not only responsible for teaching academic knowledge but also for providing examples of good attitudes and behavior.

Based on these issues, it can be concluded that character development is a shared responsibility among schools, parents, and the community. A lack of supervision and attention toward children may lead them to develop negative behavior, such as disrespecting others and failing to honor older people.

Therefore, schools play an essential role in guiding and educating students’ character. In addition, parents must also supervise and guide their children carefully at home. In this way, children will develop a sense of responsibility and good behavior, which will help them achieve a better future.
